How we survived and ice storm

OK first things first a big shout out to Hubby Jack and the magic he worked on my blog design! I love it!!! Being a weather person is the only job where you can be wrong 95% of the time and still be employed..... They started calling for it on Thursday an ice storm that is.... and if your from where I'm from we usually throw all weather warnings to the wind and think nothing will happen. Buffalo is know for it's crazy weather. However since 2006 anytime they use the word ice I panic. If you don't know what I'm talking about here is link of what went down that year. I still lived at home and my parents live about 5 miles from Lake Ontario. So for the most part they are in a bubble. However we lost power for 2 days and had the most insane weather. I was at work when it hit and it was crazy to drive in. It was sunny when I left for work so I only had on a fleece jacket and it was a blizzard when I left so I had to buy a coat and gloves just to be able to walk out o

The Rash-Part 1

I love being a Momma to my nugget but no one told me that sometimes it is shitty to be a parent..... Yes I said shitty because that's the truth Since December 9th I have been to the doctor 6 times and we have his well check up on Monday so that is 7 times in one month!!!! He got the flu so I took him in to make sure he was not dehydrated. Then we had his ENT appointment. Then he had pink gunky eyes so back to the doctor we went on Friday (and those 3 were all within a week). They put him on amoxicillin and said that he had an ear infection and that would take care of his pink eye too. By the next Thursday his eyes were glassy and his nose was so stuffed he could no breath out of it. James who is my favorite at the office said that Grayson may have an immunity to amoxicillin so we tried a different antibiotic. Here is where the rash comes in. He got a dose on Thursday and Friday along with eye drops for the pink eye. Saturday morning I woke up to a different baby. He w

Friday 5

Since it's the last Friday 5 of 2013 I'm going to post the top 5 moments of 2013 1- We became parents when this nugget love came into the world at a whoppng 10 pounds 4 ounces 21 inches long. Our lives were changed forever on March 19 and it's been the most amazing rollercoaster with this little boy 2- We celebrated 4 years of marriage . I love this man more than words can say. He drives me crazy but loves me despite my bat shit crazy ways so he's for sure a keeper. 3- We got a pool! !!! I'm also way excited to use it this summer. I have a feeling G will live in it!! 4- We remeber my Grandma the only way she would want to be remember by having Gramstock. It was a blast and we are looking forward to Gramstock 2014 5-Our first Holidays with Grayson Michael. It changes everything when you have a little one to celebrate it with. I love it and I love getting to dress him up!!! Happy Friday everyone!!!!

Where I have been

Let's just say the shit hit the fan on Saturday and it just kept on coming.... I will update on all of it within the next week but first lets talk about how amazing Christmas was with my little nugget love. I know at 9 months that he does not understand it all but he opened up every present.... and it just made my heart over flow with love watching my husband with him opening presents. My boys are my everything and it was the best gift having my little family together on Christmas morning. Coming up with in the week The Rash- Part 1 The Rash- Part 2 How we Survived the Ice Storm Our First Christmas Grayson meets Santa And in breaking news I'm in the middle of giving all my info to Hubby Jack so he can take over and class up this hot mess of a blog!!!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that as the wrapping paper is getting cleaned up everyone hugs their loved ones as tight as they can and be thankful to have one another.

5 on Friday Christmas Edition

1- Ok I already lied one is not Christmas related but I just have to point out the fact that I have a 9 month old!!!! Where this past year has gone I will never know! 2- This Sweater   I love this green color, I bought this to wear to Christmas eve, and bonus they had 25% off at my store! 3- This Ornament My Aunt gets the kids ornaments every year and this is G's first Christmas so she got him this one! My Uncle is a painter so he wrote Grayson on the bottom of the rocking horse and I just love it!!! I show it to him every night on the tree. 4- This plate I grabbed this little gem when I was out black Friday shopping like a mad woman. I love it and am so excited to put cookies out for Santa this year!!! 5- The fact that we are celebrating Grayson's first Christmas and I have two whole days off with my little family! Now for some non- Christmas stuff. Grayson ended up at the doctor's again last night. He has pink eye in both ey

9 Months

Grayson, Hi Bubbie lou! To say that your amazing is an understatement. I love you so much and so hard it's crazy. Sometimes your daddy and I lay in bed at night and just look at each other and say "can you believe how amazing he is gosh I just love him". This month you taught us that we have  had a lot of unsafe things in your reach. Since you full on crawl now and it is amazing to watch but also cramps my style because I can't leave you in a room alone anymore. Your two bottom teeth are in and they look so cute. The top two are rearing their ugly heads and you are chewing everything. We had your doctors appointment about your adenoids and they said you are all good. Thank goodness because momma was thinking about going to a mental hospital if you had to have surgery. You got the flu and a double ear infection this month. We went to the doctors twice in one week and momma had to go by herself which almost killed her. You like to look at everything upside down when I&

So What

Let's say so what...... That I decided last minute to take off Christmas eve. Michael has off and I just want an extra day with my boys That my mom called and asked to have G overnight from the 23rd to the 24th and I jumped on it. We have friends in town and I'm excited to go out and have a few drinks without anyone having to work the next day! and no baby to wake up at the ass crack of dawn I have yet to wrap a single present I ordered our stockings but they have not come yet....So that means they will be up for a few days and then packed a way I have been eating at least 2 cookies a day everyday since Saturday the only long sleeve shirt that I could find for Grayson to wear under is jimmy jams was a thanksgiving one so that what he wore I hate the weather lately and have no desire to do anything but stay in my comfy clothes all day and snuggle my baby

Cookies

I'm just going to jump right in because I have no rhyme or reason to this post.....Hey it's Monday and I'm still in weekend mode Grayson has a double ear infection, after just going to the ENT Tuesday and getting a perfect bill of health he gets sick. Kids are just bat shit crazy like that I baked over 20 dozen cookies this weekend. And on Saturday I only ate cookies all day. Talk about a balanced diet. Trying to take a picture of an 8 year old, a 2 year old, and an 8 month old all together and have them looking at the camera is a big fail. We got one good picture out of about 150 but I call that a success. It snowed so much this weekend. It started Friday and did not stop until Sunday morning and then continued to snow off and on. I like an idiot traveled on Saturday. We had plans and I refused to just stay home so I picked up the kids and then we went to my mom's to do the cookie exchange. Driving home was a nightmare. What normally takes me 10 mins.

My Friday 5

Let's get down to business and lay down the five things for the week 1. My nails that were done a week ago and still amazeballs! Other than the fact that they are growing out. I'm obsessed and can't wait to change up the color next week when I go back! 2. Swiss Miss So I'm a freak and love hot chocolate and must drink it while putting ornaments on the tree. I have come up with the perfect hot chocolate concoction ever and now my husband it addicted. This was born out of pure necessity because no matter what you always burn some part of yourself on hot chocolate and then curse like a sailor on leave. It is one packet of Swiss Miss Rich Chocolate mixed with hot water. Then once it is good and mixed up pour in some french vanilla coffee creamer. It cools down your drink and gives it a fancy ionlybuymycoffeefromstarbucksandmyshitdon'tstink feeling. Your welcome. 3. Christmas Book Grayson loves when I read to him because lets be real I have an ama

Finish the sentence

Linking up with Big Holly for finish the sentence........ 1. My favorite Christmas was.... any before I was 21 and didn't have a hangover from Christmas Eve 2. The worst Christmas I had... any after I was 21 and had the worst hangovers 3. That one gift that made me scratch my head and say, "Hmmmm" was... When my Aunt gave my husband and I a wooden plaque with our faces wood burned into it. It was awkward and since I may have still been drunk from the previous night I asked her if she bought it for charity and she said no she made it so I just smiled and kept drinking my beermosa 4. One year I.... hid a plate of my mom's pizza bread in the trunk so that when I was drunk on the way home I had something to eat #drunkiethinksahead let me just say it was delicious 5. I think the worst gift to give is... . A wooden plaque with your face wood burned in it A coupon book. Your not really giving me a gift because this will get kicked under the seat in my car u

Candy, Candy canes, Candy corns & Syrup

It's Christmas time and Elf seems to be on some channel every time I turn on the TV so these things stick in my head hence the blog title. Anyway first things first We had the big appointment yesterday to see if my baby needed surgery and he does NOT need it. I'm so happy. I was dreading him having to have surgery but if it would help him I would have had to put my big girl panties on. However after they looked at him they said he is perfect and that surgery would be UN-necessary at this time. I was so happy. Now let's just hope that his breathing and stuffy nose stays away! Ok so onto the wedding that I attended solo on Saturday. I hated leaving my sick baby but he was home with my husband and we had already RSVP'd that we would be there so I felt that one was better than none. Any who I had a blast with my family. When we hear open bar we drink like it's going out of style. I'm going to bullet point this because otherwise it will be hard to read I didn

Short and sweet

Today's post will be short and sweet The boys are feeling better and knock on wood I have escaped without the curse. We have Grayson's ENT appointment today to see if he needs his adenoids removed. They are calling for us to get a snow consistently for the next seven days so that should be about as fun a punch in the face I have had to leave work early the last 2 days and it sucks and my paycheck will suffer but my boys come first and thank goodness my boss feels the same way Michael's car has no heat and I had to drive it today. To say that I was cursing into work was an understatement ( for the record I drove it because the company I work for also owns a repair shop and we get a 20% discount so I brought it in to get looked at) Until tomorrow where I will have a post about the wedding and an update on the nugget and his doctors appointment.

Smilings my favorite

I had a whole post I wanted to write about my awesome weekend and then it happened.......... I swear that kids know when parents are going to do something fun without them and they are going to spend the night somewhere new. Let me back up Friday I got out of work and got my nails done....let's just say I have already made an appointment to get them done again right before Christmas because this girl is in love. They use a brand called Shelac Gel and it is amazing. Plus with Gel nails they are dry the second you take them out of the UV and they don't damage your nails. Anyway I left the nail salon, ran to the grocery store for some ginger ale and chip ya know the necessities and then stopped by subway to grab dinner. Let me just say that on the back of my grocery store receipt they have buy one get one free sub so the cheap ass in me was like dinner for under $10.00 yup that's what we are eating. So I call Michael and say that I'm heading home and he was weird on

5 on Friday

It's time to link up for 5 on Friday 1- This  candle from Bath & Body Works.   We don't have a real tree because one year when I was younger we had a real tree and when we bought it in the house a mouse ran out of it and now I have an irrational fear that a real tree comes with some odd critter living it. This candle gives me the smell of a tree without a creature coming into my house. I love it and buy one every year! 2- This  hand soap from BBW! I also buy the lotion and body wash because yum it smells so good. 3- These Jimmy Jams for Grayson. There is something that is so festive about a nugget in Christmas PJ's. ( I won't even tell you what my husband said about these PJ's and Santa)   4- I'm getting my nails did today. I'm going with a gel manicure and I'm beyond excited. We have a wedding and a Christmas party this weekend so it will take one thing off my plate because G is going for an over night and I have to pack my ent

Christmas Traditions

Linking up with  Holly today for the Christmas Traditions Movies We always watch It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve. We also throw the classics in like Rudolph, Frosty, and Christmas Vacation. I also by myself watch The Family Stone. It's sad but wonderful at the same time. I cry every time and I have seen it like 95232195 times. Christmas Eve We go to my Aunt and Uncles house on Christmas Eve. Pre- Grayson this was a drink fest. We would play Left Right Center (and make it a drinking game) with dolla bills. One year Michael and I both won and we walked out of there with $120.00. We have dinner and do a gift exchange where everyone brings a $25.00 gift and you draw numbers. #1 picks and then #2 can steal or pick a new gift. It was always a lot of booze and lottery tickets. It took us 2 hours one year because we had over 25 people. Then we drink our faces off and my mom drives us to my sister-in-law's parents house where we drink beer like i

SO WHAT Wednesday

Linking up with Shannon for So What! Wednesday So What........ If last night we had our Tuesday night dinner and I had a few (3) Southern Comfort and ginger ale's in a tall glass. Momma needed a drink If because of said drinks I went to Tim Horton's this morning and got a Pepsi. I felt like I was 21 again and needed a bacon breakfast sandwich and a fountain soda. I skipped the sandwich this time because now they go right to my thighs instead of my hangover Grayson now stands in his crib and screams until we come into get him in the morning I'm praying this is just a phase I'm also hoping that getting up at 5am is part of this phase and that is passes sooner rather than later That I have to go to the grocery store again today because I forgot my formula coupons at home yesterday That we will probably have cereal for dinner because I'm so exhausted I can't think about cooking a real meal I already told my husband that as soon as Grayson goes to

Christmas Cards!!!

It's December which means it's officially a winter wonderland at my house I ordered our cards in October because I have control issues. It took me 3 hours to look through every card that Minted had to offer. See you can order your cards and pay for them and then upload your picture later. I narrowed it down to 4. I then spent another hour flipping back and forth playing with fonts until I landed on this one. I went through the envelope options because my OCD cares about things like that. I chose the kraft paper envelopes because I like them and therefore they are best. I then crapped my pants because now I need! a! picture! and it has to be perfect. I decided that getting a picture of him before Halloween would be crazy so I put it off until a few weekends ago. I had this hat and decided on a simple outfit and to let his leg rolls hang out because this is the only time in life where having tree trunks for thighs is acceptable. I found an antique kids rocking chair at

Thanksgiving wrap up

It was a glorious 4 days off of work! I even snuck out an hour early on Wednesday so I could kiss on my chunky nugget called Grayson. He went for an overnight with Gigi so that the hubs and I could get in a date night. It was wonderful and simple and everything we needed. Dinner and a movie at home with ice cream and popcorn sign me up! Thursday we really just relaxed had breakfast, started pulling out the christmas decorations, and then headed to my parents and scoop up our baby boy because we missed him like crazy ( We even talked about going to pick him up several times because we just love having him with us.) I went out shopping. I got a ton of my Christmas shopping done. I got home at 1 in the morning and was up at 7 with baby G. He then started his new trick. Let's call it " I started real crawling and pulling myself up on everything". Thanks for being super mobile now and we will be baby gate shopping asap. We also had to lower the crib because G be crazy and
