Grayson's Birthday Weekend

My big boy is now 3 and I feel like it has gone so fast.

He had a pretty awesome birthday weekend.

I didn't throw a big party like I normally do instead we had cake on Friday with his cousins because they were leaving for Florida the next day on his actual birthday.

I went simple pizza wings and a cake from our local bakery. I sat the whole time and rested and he had a blast so that is all that matters.

Saturday my sister came and picked him up to go to story & paint time at a local pottery shop. They found out it was his birthday and even had a balloon at his chair. She took him for cookies and donuts and he had a blast.

After his nap we headed to bowling. We asked him about 3 weeks ago what he wanted to do for his birthday and he kept saying bowling. So that's what we did and he had a blast. I sat and watched and then after one game we had pizza and cake and presents! Then played another game before heading home.

It was such a good day. He kept telling me it was the best day ever! I was so thankful because I felt bad that he didn't get his normal blow out party but I think it was perfect.

Tomorrow I hope to get caught up on my weekly pregnancy updates.

Happy Tuesday!

A few days before you turn 3

Sweet sweet boy you will be 3 this Saturday and I'm till in awe that it has been 3 years since they handed you to me. That was a life changing moment for sure.

You are such a kind boy. Don't get me wrong you have your moments of frustration but you really have a kind heart. You know when mommy needs a hug or kiss or snuggle. We have a bond baby boy, a strong one that will never be broken.

Talking to you is like talking to a grown up until you say things like "let me fink about it" and then I just die laughing. You are defiantly a parrot. For example when I want you to really hear me I will say "Grayson look at me" just so I know I have your attention. The other day I was reading something and you said "Mommy look at me" and I could not stop laughing but what you had to tell me was so important.

You are becoming more independent everyday. You can now undress yourself 100% and I would say you can dress yourself about 90% buttoning up jeans and pulling the shirt over your head are the two things we have to work on. You pick out your own clothes for school and pick up your dirty clothes after you take them off. You help cook dinner and clear and set the table all the time. Laundry is one of your favorites chores to help me with, but you only fold your clothes, and then take them upstairs and put them away.

You are starting to test boundaries and well we are working on it. No is a new word you like to use and when you don't listen well you get things taken away. This is harder on mommy than anyone else because you are so sensitive. When you tell me no and I take away a toy or shut the tv off you slump your little head and pout. It kills me every time. Then 2 second later you come up to me and hug me and say "sorry mommy I didn't listen I will be a good listener from now on okay mommy? We start over and you ask me again and I will listen" I'm just so in love with you I hate to see any sadness. I'm for sure the push over parent.

Your going to be a big brother soon and your so excited. You talk about the babies to us and call them baby brother and baby sister. We haven't told you their names because we are keeping them a secret and we have some family members who try to get them out of you. I did one day have you say them and oh my word sweetest thing ever. You will be a great big brother and I can't wait to see you step into that roll.

Your interests are all things cars. You love your hot wheels and play with them for hours. Legos are a big hit too and you love to just build something all the time. You are persistent and if you have an idea in your head you fight until you get it just how you want it. Your favorite thing though is being outside with daddy, doing whatever he is doing. The other day you and him picked up all the sticks from the winter in our yard and you could not wait to tell me all about it. Your such a great helper. Plus a total outside kid. Everyday you ask to go outside. I'm limited on my activities these days but the other day I took you outside to blow bubbles on the porch and that was enough for you. You just love to feel the sun on your face.

Friday is our day baby boy. We get baby doughnuts every Friday and it's our special little time. You get so excited to have them, and to get a smoothie for dinner. I love that we have a little routine together.

Long story short sweetheart. You made me Mama and have changed my life and me as a person in such an amazing way. I love you with all my heart and feel honored to have you as my son.

Happy Birthday Grayson!

30 week bumpdate

How far along? 30 weeks

Total weight gain: 51 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? Yes and it is what it is.

Sleep: I have suffered from insomnia almost every night this past week. I finally broke down on Friday night and took Benadryl and got a solid 10 hours of sleep. It was heaven. But the next night I was up from 11:00 to 1:30 because I could not get comfortable. Someone said this is all in preparation for not getting sleep once the babies are here so I guess I will be very prepared.
Best moment this week: The warm weather. We had days in the upper 60’s and we got to spend some time outside.
Miss Anything? Being able to pick up Grayson. My Dr. told me that I can no longer do this and I get it because of the weight but man it breaks my heart to tell him no.
Movement: They are like shape shifters. My stomach looks deformed most of the time because they are all to one side or going opposite directions.

Food cravings: Cadbury cream eggs. Pizza logs w/ranch and still cereal all day every day. Chip dip is back and I have yet to get any.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Heartburn/acid reflux is still pretty bad no matter what I eat. Plus the nausea is back in the morning.
 Gender: Boy and Girl
Labor Signs: Nope

Symptoms: Exhaustion. I’m so tired no matter what I do. I can take a nap at any time. Even after a good nights sleep I took an hour nap later that day.
Belly Button in or out? Out
Wedding rings on or off? Off
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY!

Looking forward to: Grayson turns 3 this weekend. We are having a family party on Friday (since some of our family is leaving the next day for Florida) and then Saturday is actual birthday we are going bowling!! I can’t believe my first born is 3.
Grayson: He was very snuggly with my belly this weekend and we talked about how he can’t wait to feed the babies with a bottle once they are here. Then he said “ they are not here yet mommy because they are still too little so they have to say in your belly longer then I will feed them” He’s so cute I could just eat him up and I know he will be such a great big brother.
So after some big changes this weekend in my body and sleeping situation I’m happy this is my last week of working. My body is just starting to feel all the affects of a twin pregnancy. I have done a ton of research because at 1:30 in the morning when you’re so tired but can’t get comfortable to sleep you want to know you’re not alone and I have read that this is pretty common. My hips are the biggest culprit and I’m sure it has a ton to do with sleeping on them so much and the fact that the babies feel lower in the last week then they have this whole time.  My doctor really just wants me taking it east at this point and to severely limit my driving and so that’s what I’m going to do. I plan to only drive to and from my doctor’s appointments. We do have some things coming up that I have to go to like family/maternity pictures and ya know Easter but after that I’m going to be pretty home bound to keep these babies cooking for as long as possible. Our first goal is 34 weeks to keep me and the babies at the same hospital and to have my doctor deliver them then after that everything is gravy. I’m shooting for between 35-36 weeks. Lots of prayers needed on that one. It’s crazy to think that anytime in the next 4-6 weeks I will be having my babies. I have a small list of things that I want to get done once I’m homebound. Organizing the nursery and packing my hospital bag are at the top of that list. My parents have been great and will be taking Grayson to daycare for me so that he gets to stay in his routine. I’m so very thankful for them and all that they are doing for me.

29 week bump date

And just for fun a difference between 23 and 29 I have gotten so big

How far along? 29 weeks

Total weight gain: 48 pounds

Maternity clothes? Yes

Stretch marks? Yes and it is what it is.

Sleep: Staying asleep is a problem because I flip and flop from my left to my right side the other night I saw almost every hour on the clock.

Best moment this week: Going on a little shopping trip with my mom. It was short and sweet but I needed some one on one time with my Mama. Plus I got some super cute newborn sleepers for the twins

Miss Anything? I can’t wait to sleep on my stomach or back really anywhere but my side at this point

Movement: Big movements like my stomach takes on many forms and can be downright painful when they move in opposite directions. Plus baby Boy is breech and so his head is up in my rib which is quite painful.

Food cravings: Cadburry cream eggs. Pizza logs w/ranch and still cereal all day every day.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Acid reflux is in full force again no matter what I eat. I drank water too fast the other day (I guess?) and I threw it all up. I think it has to do with the fact that baby boy is so high up and they are just pushing everything everywhere. Doctor says to eat an apple and that will help so I have a huge bowl full at home now, we will see.

Gender: Boy and Girl

Labor Signs: Nope

Symptoms: Just overall my body is achy. I’m measuring 40+ weeks pregnant so that has a lot to do with it plus I have 6 + pounds of baby and two of everything so that extra weight is starting to take its toll on my body.

Belly Button in or out? Out

Wedding rings on or off? Off
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY!

Looking forward to: A day of sleeping in. My mom is taking Grayson overnight Friday to Saturday and so I will get to sleep in Saturday morning which this pregnant lady is excited about.

Grayson: He told me he is ready for my belly to not be big again. Poor boy gets frustrated that I can’t give him a bath or get down on the floor and play with him. I have been trying really hard to make sure that I snuggle on the couch while we watch a movie or read books but I get it he wants the fun mommy back not the one that says “I can’t pick you up like that my belly is too big” Soon my love we are in single digit weekly countdown anywhere from 5-8 week until these babies are here.

So this week my mental state has started to have some trouble. I think it’s just the unknown of it all.  I had it set in my mind that I would be working until the end of this month and well that’s not going to happen. As of today I have one week left of work and even that I had to fight for. So March 17th will be my last day until after the babies. I have had a hard time wrapping my head around this. The doctor has two major concerns, One driving, he prefers I not drive everyday to and from work and two that I’m already measuring 40+ weeks pregnant and he wants my body in the most relaxed state as possible as to keep the babies in as long as possible. He keeps telling me that he is hoping I make it to 34 weeks (that way I can stay at my hospital and not have to go to a different one with a higher level NICU) but I want to make it to 36 week plus. So if stopping work is what I have to do then that’s just how it is. My parents will still be picking up Grayson and taking him to daycare 3 days a week so that his schedule stays the same, and that way I really can just relax on those days. This is all just a shock and knowing that in as soon as 5 weeks we could have babies is just hard to hear. Plus my body aching and feeling like it’s falling apart isn’t helping. Here’s hoping this next week goes by fast and that once I’m home I really can just relax and keep these sweet babies cooking as long as possible.Plus there are things I can't do like take Grayson to the Easter egg hunt this weekend (so thankful that my Momma is doing this for me) and I can't bowl when we go bowling for his birthday. I know this time will be fleeting and just a blip on the radar and that the end result of all the sacrifices of having two babies will be worth it sometimes I just let it get the best of me.

28 week Bump Date- 3rd Trimester!!!!

How far along? 28 weeks 3RD Trimester!!!!!

Total weight gain: 46 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? Yup I’m for sure stretching out

Sleep: Knock on wood pretty good this week.
Best moment this week: Taking Grayson to the water park and getting to see the babies again on a sonogram
Miss Anything? I can’t wait to sleep on my stomach or back really any where but my side at this point
Movement: Yes two ninjas in there. All the time. Plus I can for sure tell which one is moving when which is good.

Food cravings: Cadburry cream eggs. Ugh those things are a craving this time of year pregnant or not.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I have had to cut down my meals and eat more often. I’m now eating about every hour and a half to stop with the reflux issue. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t
 Gender: Boy and Girl
Labor Signs: Nope

Symptoms: Lower back and hip pain. A crazy looking stomach and the being exhausted has returned. I could nap at any point in the day.
Belly Button in or out? Out
Wedding rings on or off? Off
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY!

Looking forward to: A weekend with no plans!!! Which is our last one for the whole month. So I’m soaking this in and washing all the baby things!
Grayson: He loved seeing the babies on the sonogram. He pats my belly and gives the babies hugs at night which is really sweet. My Mom bought him an I’m going to be a Big Brother book so we have been reading that every night.

So I’m still measuring about 10 weeks ahead putting me in the 38-39 week range which makes sense because both babies are measuring around 3 pounds each, Baby Girl is 3 pounds even and Baby Boy is 2 pounds 15 ounces. They are growing really well, and since 12 weeks have stayed within an ounce of each other Baby Girl always being the one ahead. My doctor is letting me stay in work still but said to start thinking up a modified schedule that would only have me in the office 3 days a week, so I have been working on those details. He just keeps repeating to me that I have to make it to at least 34 weeks and that my only job that really counts is growing two healthy babies. I don’t have to start non-stress tests until around 32 weeks since they are looking so good on the sonograms and I have not been having any issues. My blood pressure is staying right where it should at 117/74 which is perfect. I have really been taking it easy. Coming home and just putting on comfy pants and relaxing with my feet up, taking a bath with Epsom salt every other night to help with my lower back. The only new thing this week is my wrist, on my right hand is killing me. I woke up with it a few days ago and it’s just plain awful. I can’t pick up Grayson without yelling in pain, and writing is difficult as are some typing movements. I’m hoping it’s just a pulled muscle that will heal in time. Overall things are just trucking along, just growing two babies and trying to get small ish things done in the mean time.
