Our weekend.

This weekend was awesome.

Michael was off of work and so for once we got have a true weekend together.

Friday I scooped up my biggest boy from school and we went and had baby doughnuts together. Normally we go through the drive thru but on this day he asked to go and eat them inside and so we did.

That boy is just so sweet and melts my heart. I love him so hard and he just lights up my world. We had the sweetest conversation about his day at school and how he wondered what his babies did at home all day with Mema. Then he told me I was beautiful and asked me to be his forever doughnut date, which of course I said yes too.

We got home ate dinner and did power hour. It was nice to be able to stay up and spend some time with Michael after all the kiddos went to bed instead of him having to go to bed too.

Saturday I let Michael sleep in a little bit. Sissy woke up first and her and I snuggled and then big brother woke up and the playing started. Next followed Marshy and breakfast started. Michael came down around 7:15 and we started in on our own breakfast and coffee.

Michael and I had plans to go to a shooting class that day and so we started getting ready for that while the babies were down for their morning nap. My Mom came and watched the kids while we went to our class. Which by the way was awesome. I have to admitt I was a little nervous when we first got there because it was a small class (only 4 of us) and it was all men. I was the only female with 3 other guys. But I held my own and was pretty proud of myself. We shot about 150 rounds each and got through a ton of drills. The class was about 2 hours and once we were done there we headed to BJ's to get some things we needed that are just better to buy in bulk. We grabbed dinner after that and made him just in time to do power hour. Which was like disaster hour because the 3 year old had a melt down over chocolate and how he would eat it.

Sunday Michael let me sleep in which again was only until about 7:15 and then we got ready for our day. Both grabbing showers and getting Grayson ready because we had big plans. My mom came over around 10 (because she is a rock star and we would be lost with out her) and we headed out on an adventure with just our biggest boy.

We took Grayson to build a bear and it was so fun. He got gift cards for a Christmas present and it was our first time there. He chose a Kylo Ren bear because it always about Star wars. It was a really fun time he got to stuff his bear and put the heart in and then we got to go pick out his light saber.

Now let me say this. If we did not have a gift card I don't know if we would have went. It's mad expensive but I'm so glad he got experience it! He had a blast. We left there and headed to Target to get some jeans for Michael and to take full advantage of the baby sale. Which we did and it was awesome we are stocked up on diapers and formula for at least 2-3 weeks.

We came home snuggled and had a relaxing rest of the weekend!

Happy Monday!

Catch up

I feel like I haven't written a post in forever and well it's been a while.

But not because of my usual 3 kids keep me super busy and insane thing

Nope this time it was because I had

For 2 weeks I had to go sit in court everyday and listen to a trial.

It was difficult to listen to some of the details and on Friday (finally!) we got to deliberate and we reached a verdict and now I will not have to serve again for at least 6 years!

This was challenging for many reasons. I had to figure out certain work things and then the whole who would pick the kids up and how was dinner going to get made and well that was all a headache.

But we made it through.
One silver lining to the Jury Duty thing was that I could go watch Grayson skate on Tuesday since the rink is right down the road from the courthouse. So that was a sweet surprise.

Friday night I was emotionally exhausted. And we were getting ready to leave to go to dinner for my Aunt's birthday and bam Marshall had a fever. I took it it was 102.6. So Michael decided to stay home and I would still go to dinner with Grayson and Charlotte.

Well I was almost to the restaurant when Michael called to let me know that his fever had spiked to 103.8. When I got to the restaurant my mom sent me home to be with Marshall and she kept Grayson and Charlotte with her so I could focus on Marshall.

I got him to eat some of his bottle and thankfully his fever started to go down with Tylenol. He slept through the night but woke up the next day with a 102 temp again.

I just monitored it throughout the day. My mom brought the kids home and I got Grayson ready to head to a birthday party. It was at a bowling alley and he was so excited to bowl and was doing really well too when he tripped and bam! chin right into the bowling ball. Poor thing. He bite down on his tongue pretty hard but after 10 mins he was back out there bowling and got 2 strikes and 2 spares.

Saturday night Marshall seemed to be doing a little better but as soon as the Tylenol would ware off he would spike a high fever (highest being 103.8)

Sunday he woke up so congested and coughing with a little rattle in his breathing and still with a fever. So to Urgent care we went. First of all I'm not a fan of going to urgent care because well the wait is usually insane but the pediatric one in our area is ah-mazing! We did have a little wait but not too bad.

So they took his temp 102.8. Sad face for Marshy. They got us back in the room, which had a bed a crib, a couch, a tv and tons of book and gave us a dose of  ibuprofen for his fever The doctor came in and said that he needed a chest x-ray. So in about 5 mins they came and got us to get that done (yup they do that all right there!) and then we waited for those to be done. The doctor came in and said that he and Pneumonia in his right lung. They gave him his first dose of antibiotic there and sent us on our way with a prescription.

We were there about 2 hours but to have everything done right there I will take it.

We have a follow up with our own doctor today at 9 just to make sure it's not progressing.

So hopefully this week will be a little less eventful.

Happy Monday!

Workin' It Wednesday 01-2017

I'm linking up with Shay today to talk about how I'm going to work my new years goals.

I wrote a few out here but I have more of a word I want to share that is going to help me out this year

I read The Magnolia Story

Mostly just to be nosy because I love that show

But it really spoke to me

 Specifically this word

Joanna speaks about how that word changed her and well I get it

So my word for 2017 is

as a mother
as a wife
in my faith
as a friend
in work
at home
in my life

I have this word all over the place

At home, at work, in my van.
On my bookmark in my Bible.
I will be THRIVING this year.

I'm going to THRIVE in my relationship with God.

Thriving is a choice. It's a choice to make the best of what we have and find God's grace and glory in it all.

Happy Wednesday friends!

2016 Re-Cap

2016 What a year it was. We had a ton of changes in our family so here we go....

We found out we were having a boy and a girl.
We celebrated birthday's and tried to stay out of the snow

We took one last adventure before Mama got to big

And the bump really grew

I stopped working and just focused on growing the babies

Grayson turned 3 and we celebrated with bowling!

We celebrated birthday's (we now have 10 including the twins)

I went into pre-term labor and went on full bed rest

and then.....

Charlotte and Marshall joined our family

We survived and I celebrated my first Mother's Day as a mother of 3
And also didn't take very many pictures #sleepdeprived #onthevergeofabreakdowndaily

We celebrated my birthday and tried to figure out how me going back to work would look like

We tried to find our groove with us both of us working. My mom watched the babies and really helped us out a ton with the house

My little sister got married!

We celebrated 7 years of marriage!

It was a big month

We got the babies baptized

Libby turned 11

We celebrated Michael's birthday

and Marshall and Charlotte's first Halloween

Thanksgiving (x2) and adjusting to new schedules

Was wonderful with the babies first Christmas and Grayson really understanding that Baby Jesus was born on this day.

2016 was crazy. But we made it and we are heading into 2017 with open and grateful hearts.

2017 Resolutions

Happy 2017

Tomorrow I will be here with a 2016 Re-cap because it was a big, crazy, blessed, hectic, learning curve kind of year.

But today I have my resolutions for you. Some are silly, some are fun, some are just for me. So here we go.

Yup my resolution is to do one load a day from start to finish. And to not start another load until the previous one is complete that means put away and everything. We have more laundry now than ever (adding two babies at once will do that to you) and well it's just madness. Last year I went out and bought two more laundry baskets just because all of the other ones were full of clean folded laundry. Well not in 2017.

Read the One Year Bible. I bought this in October and decided that I wanted to do this with my husband. I just got us notebooks and we will be doing this as a Bible study every night together and reading through the Bible together and I'm so excited. We have decided that sometimes it might be at separate times but that at least once a week we will get together and share our take away. 2017 is going to be a big year for our relationship with God I can just feel it.

Alone time. Michael and I are often clutched on and talked to too much, 24/7 (unless we are asleep and even then I dream that my kids are chatting at me ha!) so we have decided that every other day each of us will get 30 minutes to ourselves. To do whatever we want. I plan to work out and work on my oils and Michael wants to play guitar and shoot some rounds out back. We need this so we don't get burned out (which has been happening).

Date more. I need to date my husband more and Grayson more. Grayson is a good boy and has really adjusted so well to Marshall and Charlotte however he needs some one on one time with Michael and I. So my goal is now one date night a month with Grayson and Michael. Also Michael and I need a date night too so we are shooting for once every other month. This will change soon because the babies are on the cusp of being a little bit easier but right now it's still a marathon getting through power hour.

Debt. 2016 was not a good year for our debt. We are cracking down on this and will be making some huge adjustments to get us to our goal

Take a step out of my comfort zone and really share my heart here about oils. I'm telling you these oils have changed my life and so I really need to be sharing that. I'm going to be doing at least one post a month and just hoping I can help even one person.

Happy 2017. Cheers to it being a crazy good year. I can just feel it!
