Update-ish

Twins are no joke

And while I like to think most days I have my ish together I finally broke......my body broke that is. The broken up sleep going on over 3 months because at the end of my pregnancy I never got more than 3 hours at a time finally kicked in and last week I lost it.




I had such a bad migraine that I had to abandon my husband on the last night feeding and go sleep in a quiet room alone for 5 hours straight and it was heaven until I woke up with my throat almost swollen shut and my nose stuffed.



Needless to say I'm not much help on the baby front and my sweet Michael had to call into work last Wednesday and stay home with me so I could rest. I'm feeling better I just have a nagging cough now and nose that is stuffed one second and then draining the next.



We have been going through a fussy phase with the babies and it's hard to get too much done during the day. We tried changing their formula and that made them constipated so back to the old formula and now they are back on track.




They had their one month check ups back at the end of May (mom fail that I didn't do a month update oops) They have gained so much weight. Marshall was 6 pounds 9 ounces and birth and at 5 weeks he weighed 9 pounds 10 ounces and was 21.5 inches long. Miss Charlotte was 6 pounds 12 ounces at birth and at 5 weeks she was 9 pounds 5 ounces and 22 inces long. My boy is a little chunker and his sister is long and lanky.



My sister gets married in August and so we are starting to get into the crazy wedding time where is showers and crafts and invitations oh my!


We had a small scare with my sweet little Marshall last night. All is good and I'm working on a post about it because it really speaks to following your mommy gut.



Grayson is still amazing with the babies and has adjusted really well for the most part. We did go through a "no" phase but we nipped that right in the butt and have moved on from it pretty fast.



I go back to work in less than 2 weeks and I'm pretty sure I will be able to blog a little more regularly.

Four Things right now

Four things about all of us right now... Grayson One- This boy has finally found his groove in 1st grade. Kinder to 1st was a big adjustment but he's doing well now. And he is a spelling champ! He does sooooo good on his spelling tests! Two- Hockey is life for this kid. He skates twice a week (once doing a hockey specific clinic and once doing family skate see below) His skills are really growing Three- He loves reading and so we are riding that wave all the way. A nice little sweet spot

The sweet spot…. We seem to have hit one. I feel like we have not been in a sweet spot since the twins were about 6 months old. You know before they were mobile and can get into a ton of mischief. When kids are 0-6 months they still like to be held they eat mostly bottles and they mostly just stay in one spot. No issues, you can go places and even though you have to pack up your whole house to be prepared you can relax. And if you are in my family someone is always willing to hold or feed or change a baby. 7-months to 2.5 years old is what I refer to as the lost years. You have so many things you have to do for them they are not potty trained and they are mobile and get into EVERYTHING. Going outside is more work than its worth and with twins they scatter in opposite directions. Three on one is so hard handle in big open spaces. Update...

Things have been…..how do I say this different lately. We have been struggling to find our footing for months now. It feels like the hits just keep on coming. On February 10 th my parents were in a very serious (awful, horrible, scary) car accident. My father suffered a stroke (we found this out later) while driving the car. My mother was the passenger and they hit a telephone pole and then flipped (it’s an estimate because no one saw the accident happen) 6-8 times and landed on the drivers side of the car 100 feet off the road. I was still at work when I got a call from an unknown number and for only reasons that God knows I answered it and it was a young girl who had pulled up on the accident and had gotten my mom out of the car and was there with them while they waited for Mercy Flight for my dad as he was unresponsive. It was gut wrenching and horrible and I felt paralyzed. My mother was taken by ambulance to the same hospital they were Mercy Flighting my father to. We got...
